《英语语音教程》（第二版）是为高等学校英语专业学生编写的英语语音教材，同时适合师范专科、教育学院、广播电视大学、成人高校英语专业及相当水平的英语学习者。通过该教程的学习，学生可以掌握正确的英语发音，提高英语的听辨能力，学会使用得体的英语语音语调表达思想，以达到有效交际的目的。

        全书共15个单元。第1单元介绍英语的音节、重音与节奏的要领。其余14个单元按训练的侧重点分为三大部分：第2～7单元重点是英语的辅音与元音；第8～12单元重点学习英语的节奏规律；第13～15单元介绍英语语调的种类、结构、功能和使用。每单元由5部分组成：语音知识简介、听辨和发音训练、重音和语流感知训练、听力和模仿训练、巩固和活用语音语调知识的交际练习等。
