本书为教育部人文社会科学研究青年基金项目“中国英语专业学习者形容词型式评价取向研究”（12YJC740126）的成果之一。作者为扬州大学中青年学者，在评价取向问题的研究上有独到的建树。本书共六章。第一章阐述评价取向研究的研究必要性和研究意义；第二章介绍评价取向的研究背景，着重描述对关键术语形容词型式和评价取向的界定，以及过往国内外相关研究；第三章提出有关形容词型式使用分布和评价取向特征的研究问题，并重点刻画基于评价取向参数的分析框架的构建和数据分析的过程；第四章和第五章则分别进行基于形容词型式的评价取向假设模型和基于评价取向的英语写作水平预测模型的相关论证；第六章总结研究的主要发现、提出相关的教学启示。
