本书是专为来华旅游学习的外国留学生编写的任务型短期系列汉语教材。该系列教材分A、B、C三册，B册供学习4到6周的零起点学生使用（短期）教材特点1、本书根据短期班学生的实际需求，针对短期强化教学的特点，围绕留学生在中国的学习、生活、出行、旅游、购物等方面，以实用的交际任务为主线编写。留学生也可把本系列教材视为在华学习生活期间必不可少的生活指南。2、教材中的练习部分，除了与课文和语言点相关的练习外，为达到学以致用的目的，每课都有实践性很强的交际任务。这样做可以使学生在学习过程中及时看到自己的学习成果，并将所学的内容顺利地运用于实际生活中。3、与其他短期班教材有所不同的是，本书引入实践课环节，将课堂教学与课外语言实践相结合，使教材内容延伸至课外。同时有计划导入中国的文化和习俗。上述两点将成为本书有别与其他教材的一大特色。4、语言材料实用、真实，并通过日常生活中的场景展现出来。
